Welcome aboard the ”Kosterbåtarna”
We operate passenger and cargo ferries to the Koster islands all year round.
The passenger ferries depart from the ”norra hamnen” in Strömstad at the main square (torget). Street adress Ångbåtskajen, Strömstad. Here you will also find a waiting room.

TICKETS
Tickets can be bought onboard (card only) or in the Västtrafik To Go mobile application
Prices vaild from June 2026 until further notice:
Youths (7-19 years) One way: SEK 58, return SEK 116
Adults (20 years -) One way: SEK 76, return SEK 152
One way tickets are sold in the App ”Västtrafik To Go” Return tickets are sold on board. We recommend the App!
Children 0-6 years are free of charge

The ticket is valid for a one way journey – but you get the round-trip discount.
Adult = 76kr
Youth 7-19 years = 58kr
Search trip from ”Strömstad Norra Hamnen” to ”Koster” to find your ticket, right price = right ticket! (the ticket will be valid to any stop on both islands) The app will remember your previous tickets which will make repeated voyages more convenient.
The ticket must be activated before departure and is valid for 180 minutes. The deck-hand will validate the ticket during the journey. The telephone must be switched on and connected to the internet for the ticket to be valid!
